Dear Visitors of this year’s Days of European Film,

very few people would have thought it likely that the 28th edition of the Days of European Film would have to be a second year of this popular event to take place in a restricted format. One can feel either sad or be grateful that this year’s festival is happening at all, in spite of all the adverse circumstances. Me, personally, I am feeling glad about it. Covid-19 has proved to be a tough adversary which cannot be beaten by cheap rhetoric and inconsistent measures. Unfortunately, many have acknowledged this fact only too late and we all are paying a price for that. So let us enjoy this year of the Days of European Film festival in Prague and elsewhere in the Czech Republic as it is currently possible and let us hope that next year, this event resumes its original format. It will indeed depend on each and every one of us. I thank all the spectators for their lasting support of the Days of European Film.
